The game plan is a good tool for setting, tracking and evaluating if goals have been met. Students can use a GAME plan to understand what they are trying to accomplish on a specific task or problem. Through goal setting, which is similar to creating a KWL, students ask questions such as what do they want to know, what do they already know and how will they know when they have succeeded. Once they have established their goals they come up with an action plan, on how they will meet their goals. By monitoring their actions, they can see if they are meeting their goals, finding the information they need, or change their action plan because they are not meeting their goals. And lastly, by evaluating their goals the student will see if they met their goals and if not they will review what they can do differently next time and/or if they need to change their strategies or modify their goals to continue.

  1. You make some great points. The game plan is like a living KWL chart. Both teachers and students can continuously modify and change their plans as the time progresses. This can make for outstanding results.

Yes, they can monitor and edit existing plans and prepare for upcoming ideas. This will serve as a living model of our learning techniques.
