The Partnership for the 21st Century (P21) was a website I will visit again. I agree with their framework in which they believe that all children need the skills and tools to make it in the 21st century. I liked that they had all the states listed that were part of the 21st Century States and I learned that NJ was part of it and gave information on our standards, assessment, professional development and a NJ based P21 council that includes the governor’s office, department of education, civic and community leaders, district superintendents and educational associations.
Before investigating the website the Partnership for the 21st Century I didn’t’ know there was a consortium made up of fortune 500 companies in the United States ranging from computer HW and SW based companies to car manufactures to scholastic assessment companies. The list of businesses surprised and impressed me.
This website in informative and the only page I found disappointing was a page I went to I clicked on it because it said Online Tools, but it was just a webpage with a link. I clicked on the link and it was another page underneath it. But, one of my favorite parts was the home page, which had many articles about P21.
I would highly recommend this website for other educators who believe that every student needs to have access to today’s technology to succeed in work and school.
